It was such an important meeting last night, and I appreciated your presence very much. Especially Maike Gohl from Schindlers who has outlined the legal process we face when dealing with the Metro powers on a legal level.
It is important that we should be fully informed, and Maike has shared her years of expertise for our benefit. Thank you, Maike.
Jan and I will soon (within the next week or two) establish a blog on our website Crime & Injustice. Please share your stories. There is only one proviso – we wouldn’t like to publish stories from anonymous sources.
There is a Facebook page specifically dedicated to billing abuses Joburg Billing Action Group.
I spoke to Jan and if possible, we should follow Linda’s advice and use Twitter to make our voices “heard”. The only way to create a voice against abuse is to “speak up”. And if we do it often enough, it will become a chorus.
A totally different matter: If you would like to be on our email addresslist for frequent notifications about events at Foxwood House, let me know!
Linda, the information you have about our now ex-mayor’s business interests, please share it with us. If you wouldn’t like me to publish it on our blog, simply say so. But it will be a good lead to follow up on.
What is of special concern is the point raised at the meeting about arbitrary powers that are increasingly given to officials.
Loking forward to be hearing from you soon with stories we can publish on our blog.
Best regards
Pieter (de Vos)
